First, we get a needle-nose plier. The needle nose plier can clamp the tabs together when we squeeze them with it. After that, the clamp needs to be pushed up. It should be up the hose. If you do that, the clamps won’t be misplaced by you. Now release the valve. Off the back of the inlet valve. Wiggle the hose as much as you can to take it out.

Once the inlet valve is out. You can use needles and chemicals to release clogging. Home remedies are effective in clogging too. Vinegar will remove all the debris present in it.

Manually using force will remove clogging faster and combine with remedies. The effort will be fruitful. If the inlet valve gets damaged while cleaning, replace it and close it.

Let’s clean the inlet valve in detail.

Water supply

Water is necessary, but the clogged inlet valve doesn’t allow its flow. Though water isn’t flowing, close the water supply. You don’t want to get soaked and flood your kitchen as the inlet valve will allow flowing once it is cleaned.

Turn it off. The primary water supply gives full safety, so close it. You can also turn it off under the sink. It’s your choice.

Power supplyPower supply

If you are using an automatic dishwasher or one with simple electricity, turn off the power. Water and electricity won’t do well for you.

The shock gets stronger with water. The main board in the basement has breakers, trip them by turning them.

Unplug the wires from the outlet. Make sure no electricity reaches the dishwasher while you are cleaning. Check all the power supplies from everywhere, including the outlet and the main board.

Access panel

Now it’s time to remove the access panel. To avoid water flooding, put a towel underneath it. You will find the access panel at the bottom of the dishwasher.

In the new models, the outdoor panel needs to be removed. It is at the front of the dishwasher. You’ll need to remove it to get to the access panel.

Removing the hose

Unscrew the hot-water hose coupling with the help of slip-joint pliers. They are present at the inlet valve and under the sink. The end of the fill hose clamp can be squeezed together. Use the slip-joint pliers again. Slide the camps up the hose. Pull the fill hose off the inlet valve.

Make sure the hose and inlet valves don’t get damaged while pulling. Use the tools gently so they won’t break. Keep all the screws and small parts in a single place so you don’t lose them.

Removing inlet valve

Use tape on the wires. Then put numbers or labels on the tape. Using the same long-nose pliers, pull the wires from the attached terminals.

Remove the mounting bolts of the inlet valve. Use an adjustable wrench to remove the bolt. Check if the inlet valve is too damaged. Check if the clogs can be cleaned.

Installing new inlet valve

Get a new inlet valve from the market and replace it. Match it completely. Do the above steps in opposite terms to install the inlet valve. Turn the water and power supply to the inlet valve and clean the dishes.
